On our way to Dubrovnik, one of the cars in the convoy (yes - there really was a convoy…) broke down in Foca, which is about X km away from Sarajevo. While waiting for the car to be repaired, a few of us took a stroll to the Drina river which flows through the town. We didn't mind being stuck in such a heavenly place for a few hours!

Our first night in Croatia was spent in a guest house in Mali Zaton, which is about 20 km outside of Dubrovnik. This is the spectacular view that we woke up to.

This picture of the Croatian flag blowing in the wind on the wall of the old town of
Dubrovnik was taken on our walk along the old town walls.

Neither Nikola, Joanne nor Branko were impressed with Tanya who took this
picture of them trying to move into our guest houses in the rain. This is
on the bridge at the western entrance of the old town, with the Pile Gate in
the background. |
| Nikola and Branko were lost in conversation when they were called for this picture to be taken. They're climbing down the steps of one of the many narrow paths in the old town in Dubrovnik. Please note how quaint and beautiful the place is… |
Go on, Nane! You can do it! This is Branko trying to climb the fort wall at the harbour of the old town. It didn't take long before he gave up trying…

We both had a great time walking around the old town walls and enjoying the views of the red roofed houses. With a view like this of the island of Lokrum in the background, Tanya and Branko could easily be convinced that Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Most of the pictures that we took in Dubrovnik were of the views on the city wall walk. Which is why there are two that have found their way onto our site…
